Hot+working+pickpockets=Smartcarry. Otherwise, something deep IWB with a retention strap, or maybe one of those fancy undershirts with a built in holster.
I can say from experience though, Smartcarry works. I am able to wear my gun while practicing Muay Thai, though it is more comfortable without. I was mighty glad I had it during a cleanup in May, bending and stooping...I haven't yet found a situation in which I can't carry, so long as I have on clothes...

Unless carrying is going to get you kicked out of everything, I'd suggest doing what you normally do. A religious revival festival is all well and good, but I'll warrant that the crystal balls there are just as foggy as everywhere else, with respect to being able to foresee crimes and threats.

Portland still is what it is, with all the normal daily threats. Particularly if you're heading out on the Max train, there are the usual worries: litany of crime instances on/around the Max train.

Just imagine the things that can happen when you close your eyes & pray during a religious event.

I agree with Thumper...

See if you can find a pair of pants (like Columbia) with a zipper "security pocket" for your wallet, etc. then ankle carry your gun. Not the fastest draw, but it will be there and secure.

Can you legally carry there, do you "want to carry" or do you feel you "need to carry"?... then go from there.

My opinion is, if you do decide to carry, don't try out something new, especially there... do what you feel comfortable with and are use to.

I would say that pretty well sums it up. The yes's / smartcarry have it. As previously stated, stay safe / stay alive.

Just put a P38T, or LCP in your strong hand front pocket, and no one but you will know it is there.

I carry IWB everywhere. I have a CTAC from CompTac and carry at the 3 o'clock position. I have learned to guide the other persons left arm when they are reaching for a hug. I ALWAYS slip my hand under their left arm thereby pushing their hand and arm above my rig. Have not been made in 5 years of carrying at Church.
