+1 on SmartCarry. I teach regularly at our church and carry my .45 Kimber Ultra CDP - no one knows No problem hugging, or contact with others.

Don't carry. If you're attacked, you can always just "turn the other cheek . . . "

Carry, and hug using your weak side arm, letting your strong arm hang past the holster preventing the "huggee" from feeling the waepon. I've gotten past my mother-in-law's monster hugs this very way.

If carrying at a public gathering such as religious functions, churches etc is legal, you're very lucky because in GA, that's against the law and will lead to the lose of the permit to carry... if I were legal for me, carrying would not even be thought, it would be instinctual to carry EVERYWHERE it is legal to do so.

Carry the Sword of the Spirit and the rod of the Glock, and be well my son!

Ankle carry if you can, you'll spot that pick pocket or as suggested smart carry.

I don't know any of the areas you talk about but I carry everywhere. Do your best to figure out how to accommodate the problems you mention but I think the alternative of not carrying is unacceptable.

Mass of religious people in a public area....you are stupid if you don't carry! Religious events are extremely vulnerable. I carry in my church every Sunday. I do the middle school ministry too. If the parents knew though, I would probably have quite the battle in front of me..

Take two guns. One for 'mass transit', backup for 'downtown area'. No joke.
