LRider... you're just a stand up guy! Nothing further needs to be explained! However, your open posts does put people on notice that even they, are not immune to what most of us have already known! That we are all human!

Thanks for the frank and honest posts!

Sig no offense taken at all least I have coming is some ribbing. It was funny

Bark'n, Thank you for the repeated atta boys and everyone else for all the stand up compliments. Not at all what I was expecting or looking for when I posted. As nice as they are to hear, I like to think that my actions were not in any way exceptional. At least not for members of this board and hopefully CCW's generally. IMO the vast majority of the members here would have done at least as much if they found themselves in my shoes. I believe the bottom line for everyone of us is that we understand the enormous responsibility we have taken on. We understand we are 100% accountable for what we do. Most here understand exactly what you talked about in your post Can You Be Too Prepared? I cannot imagine anyone having any different reaction than the one I had when I saw innocent little boys playing where I may have left a loaded gun. In fact many of the replies revealed how the very thought caused the same reaction. There is no choice for who we are. Most of us live believing we are the good guys we live our lives doing the best we can to be decent contributing human beings an asset to our families community and nation. Look how many Warriors, Military, LEO, Firemen and Medical Responders we have here. Not forgetting the teachers. ministers etc. Men and women whose lives are dedicated to service. We know that the moment an innocent is injured or killed because we shirked our accountability and responsibility for our actions all our previous life's efforts are empty meaningless and we become the bad guy. For an absolute fact had a child or any innocent been injured because I was inattentive and irresponsible enough to allow a gun to be lost in public without doing all I could to assure the safety of others. I would forever be the bad guy. That is not who I am nor is it who most of us here are. So I'd like to think that most of us here would stand up and do what is needed to assure no one got hurt as a result of an error they made. I like to think that my actions are the norm not the exception for those here. It is one more thing that separates us from the antis.

Footslogger It is not a carry jacket per say but has two huge front pockets that you can easily carry a full sized gun in with easy quick access. It is called the MC Dual Utility Pocket Jacket it has memory foam backed body armor inserts, zip out lining, it looks like an excellent jacket. I think there is another one called The Scout which is also a great MC carry jacket. Neither one come in my size ticks me off

i have thought that i had lost items many times ( never my gun) but they always turned out to be at home or in my car somewhere.
i always touch my gun grip at the front door before going out. its become a habit of mine.also when i get back home through the door.
you did the right thing w/being honest w/the people you spoke to about it longrider.
