Paco,

You could ask her to call your local police department and get a 'schedule' of when the BG's were going to strike...

To the OP...talk about 'clueless'...just sit in a local mall or the adjoining parking lot and watch (women especially) walk between stores or to their cars while on cell phones.
Some of them could be trailed by 300 Hell's Angels...they wouldn't see a thing.
I have sat in our local mall and watched people in a jewelry store make a purchase...then watch some other dirtbag suspiciously 'eyeball' that purchase...the customer sees nothing...amazing!

Stay armed...stay cognizant...stay safe!

my wife was very anti-gun until i put a .22 in her hand and a 550 rnd box of ammo. She was wierd about me carrying at first, but now expects to see/feel it on me whenever she sees me. She takes comfort in it now.

My GF is the same way. But she has found she likes to go to the range and shoot. She likes my big framed 5" Dan and Wesson shooting .38's. I finally convinced her to at least go to a formal gun safety class which she starts today. She's looked at getting her own .38 although she isn't in the mindset of carrying yet. Baby steps. The class covers the CO requirements for CC so I'm hoping we'll get her permit just in case she keeps coming around. Sorry for the hijack, I'm just proud!

Mine is just about there too. The other night I got called in to work at 12 AM and when I got back at 3:30 that morning she heard me put it in the safe at the night stand she said, "I'm glad you had "piece" of mind with you."

My wife used to think it was silly and paranoid when I first started carrying (never mind the fact that she gave me my carry class for my b-day). Every now and then she asks "What do you need that for?". But here lately she is starting to really come around. Not to long ago we were going to a banquet for her work, in downtown Nashville. Parking is terrible here, so unless you are willing to pony up for a valet (which I am not, Dave Ramsey said so), you will usually end up with a pretty fair hike. Anyway, as soon as we got out of the car she looks at me and says "You've got IT with you, right?".

I to believe my wife is coming around but I still don't think she would ever take a class or go to the range with me... anything is possible through prayer. Right. Keep me in prayer, PLEASE!

Most people are clueless when it comes to observing their surroundings. But most LEOs and definately any astute criminal are constantly observing you or anyone else close by. I was a police officer for 31 years and could usually spot someone carrying, and 95% of that time it turned out to be an off duty cop. Concealed Carry is an art form now and done properly no one should ever notice. Illinois is one of the few states were CC is still illegal which hopefully will change someday. Thanks to HR218 and George Bush retired LEOs once qualified can carry in all 50 states.
Be safe, be alert and do it right, no one will know.

Well...there was this one time in Boston back around 1990. An off-duty cop in line behind me asked if I had a thumb-break on my Glock 19 holster. Apparently the Market area pick-pockets snatch guns as well as wallets. I told him that I did, then asked how he knew I was armed (I had my shirt tucked in around my holster). He laughed and showed me his Calco IWB belt clip...looked just like mine...
