I did the samething when a rotweiler came after my daughter and I. It amazing how your training, practice, reflexes take over in a situation like this. It even amazed me how fast the G23 came on point. The dog must have been gun shy because as soon as I drew my weapon he turned and ran. Glad it worked out well for you as well.

When he and my daughter first became an item, we had a very, uh, "direct" little chat, just him and me. In fact, it included a little bit of past history of mine that I forbade him to ever tell my daughter - just for emphasis.

While it was not ENTIRELY effective (my dear daughter's fault, not his), he has, in fact, treated her very well.

At their wedding reception nearly a year ago, I pulled him aside, shook his hand, and said, "I'm very proud of you and happy for the both of you......and I'm glad I DIDN'T kill you....."
