A small gun like the KTs fits in a very small fanny pack, and most of us would not recognize it or at least not be very sure it held a gun.

I think we are are overly concerned about such things. But some don't care if they print.
The fanny pack and small gun seem to be the best choice if one is determined to be armed on the beach.

+1 I use a fanny pak all the time, and nobody pays the least bit of attention. Even the LEO's walk right by.

A very valid question to which I have no answer, never even thought of it. I know in Hawaii you can legally have a dive knife strapped to your leg, which is a decent defense.

I'd skip the speedo, and make sure whatever firearm you are carrying has a very good finish, because being by the ocean will rust the metal pretty quick.

I have a pair of swim shorts with a zippered pocket. I think I got them at Walmart of all places.

Perfect for Ruger LCP in a nemesis pocket holster then placed in zip-lock baggies if you really plan on swimming. Also perfect for canoe and float trips.

Actually there was a Federal LEO that posted while having his oil changed he was wearing a fanny pack and the guy asked him what kinda gun he had, seems the guy was out on parole and in prison they have learned that guys with fanny packs are usually concealing a gun in them.so maybe mom and pop don't know but the guys you probably need to be more concerned about probably do know

On Spring Break in PCB, I carried my 1911 5", a Glock 17, and an NAA 22LR on the beach... at the same time, IWB. I fail to see the problem.

I do not doubt that, but a very small pack that would hold a KT P3AT and was not black would be another matter, I think. I have a very small light blue leather fanny pack that is almost too small to carry a KT P3AT, and I would not think anyone would think it contained a gun.

Anyway there are not many ways to carry on the beach, and the fanny pack still seems to be the best. Maybe pocket carry if one were wearing shorts, but as was said, be sure to use a plastic bag if you want to swim.

I have some advantage in that an old man like me is not often noticed anyway. :)

One caution about a fanny pack. I often see them not attached to the belt, and sagging. I used to carry one that way, but once when we had a class, and it was range time, I tried to make a "fast draw" and it took 4.5 seconds. When I jerked the zipper the pack just moved and the zipper did not open. I did not time it when attached to the belt, but it works much better.
At 4.5 seconds I would wish I had a hammer. :)

Regards,
Jerry

One of the benefits of middle age is the ability to wear anything and nobody takes a second look!

And it gets better with age. Is that what they say about wine??

One nice thing about getting old is no one considers you a threat, and folks are nice to you.
In fact, twice when traveling by air, pretty young women made sure they took my bag off the conveyer belt for me. I did not protest much. :)

Some might consider you"easy picking" but I have not encountered that so far.

Best,
Jerry

As an old fart I'm curious... just how far can we stretch this "middle age" thing? I mean, at what age does "old age" officially start?
