Technically, they do, but you have to own property in SC to get one.

Yes.. they do. It is non resident for people who own property in SC only.

Not that I know of. I was tempted to split up the property I just sold into 20 foot squares and sell it that way! The proof they require is a Paid Property tax receipt.

Then we can all come down with our tents on our 20 ft lots and take the class together.

You are correct though, if I had a nonresident permit I would not be able to carry in SC.
You're good to go then, Chief! (USN{Ret} myself)

I'm a little suprised about Connecticut, does this mean SC will recognize CT permits,or have full reciprocity with CT?
I though CT was one of those Northeast states that don't recognize any permits but their own. If this is changing that would be great, because anyone wanting to travel up that direction pretty much has to get permits from each individual New England state(minus VT, and I guess NH has some reciprocity).
Outstanding if true, although it does sound like SLED is really trying to stall this as long as possible.

If this is coming from SLED--it sounds like SC will recognize CT permits, but not the other way around. You will need to contact CT State Police (?) to see their status on recognizing SC permits.

Are you sure you got good information? I spoke with someone who was of the opinion that SLED has no desire to include FL.

Interesting...I thought this new bill removed the "desires" of SLED from the reciprocity equation.
