Had to go to Maine to visit the Outlaws, without my weapon, what a bummer! Longest 4 days, I'd rather walk around without pants on. Clung to my knife, sat in the house, thought often of my M&P40c, quite sad if you think about it.

My sentiments exactly

I hate it, I dont go really anywhere that I can't carry.. Once in a while I do, the other day I had to go to the fire station to give a bid on some electrical work.... granted its a pretty safe place with the police being there to but it still felt weird..

I'm relatively new to carrying, but I can understand the sentiment. I was surprised to find how frustrated it made me that I'd have to disarm for my upcoming trip to Georgia. Guess that means I'm successfully integrating carrying into my life.

in peace

I know the feeling! I live in a pretty free state but on the border of a very restrictive state. The wife works just across the border into the stupid state.

I drop her off and pick her up and I have to leave our gun at home because the stupid state's laws are more trouble than their worth to comply.

I would have to stop at the border, unload gun, put gun in case, put gun in trunk, put ammo on opposite side of car, proceed across border. Reverse these steps when I come back to my home state.

I just say screw it and leave the gun at home.

Thankfully, I am able to avoid places where my own government weenies disarm me.

The only places absolutely verboten include (in Oregon): fed restricted zones, the courthouse, the security areas of an airport. Everything else is basically open to citizens to protect themselves. Other than a flight via airliner in the past 3yrs, I've not been disarmed yet.

Met a guy open carrying in the grocery the other day. We had a brief chat about how few people are even aware that nearly everyone can carry (in Oregon). Got to love what liberty does for a soul.

I've never in my whole life seen someone open carrying and I look for it all the time.
