I discovered my company has a no firearm policy including parking lots. Fortunately, they don't own the parking lot where I park. I don't feel the need to bring a gun into work, except to keep it from being stolen out of the car.

It's pretty stupid though. I don't think they even distribute their policy to all people, and it's ridiculous to think that it actually has any effect on keeping guns off their property. It might keep a guy from flipping out in personnel, pulling a gun out and killing someone on the spot, but seriously, if someone would do that, what are the chances he wouldn't just drive home and get a gun? I seriously don't know what they think they're accomplishing.

it's all feel-good laws...the appearance of success, but really, as i mentioned, the gun-free zones are just places of potential wholesale slaughter. If someone wants to injure or kill, they will do so regarding laws because they know either way, they will be arrested, so what's the big deal?

These corporate policies are dumber than the laws. They're concerned about someone breaking the law and using a firearm on their property. I just wonder which employees might break the law, but wouldn't dare to violate company policy, one they might not even be aware of?

I've seen OC before in other states - not allowed in SC unless going to/from hunting fishing with a valid license. I knew a guy before CC was available that carried a bream buster in the back window of his pickup. He was always carrying and always "going to or from fishing."

The first time I saw OC was in NC and I kind of hesitated when I saw this very casually dressed man walking down the street with a large gun on his hip. Then I remembered the law in that state and thought nothing more about it.

As far as OC goes, their is nothing wrong with it, it's just not for me.

Although open carry in Las Vegas is not illegal, try doing it. I have heard horror stories of people calling 911, c/o a man with a gun. Then of course the cops will have to drive code 3 all the way across town. They are so pissed off at this point that not only will they prone you out like normal. They will also do it on the 200 degree asphalt!

Yeah, Oregon is completely open carry -- you can walk down sidewalk in the middle of downtown, and it's totally legal. You will get the police called on you though, and they will come. I've never seen OC either, except a few times up in some of the mountain towns.

I pretty much carry everywhere, even if there is a no gun sign. The only place I've been disarmed that I can think of is Crater Lake...

I know how you feel, after carrying an HK or Glock 45 and 2 spare mags everyday for the last 3 1/2 years I feel too "light" when I go to my new job.....but then all of the sworn officers around me are packing (we academy recruits can't have weapons on the property LOL)

seriously,....I do know the feeling, everytime I've had to go in some place that didn't allow carrying; I felt 1) more vulnerable, 2)like I had an organ missing

If loose gun laws are good for criminals, why do criminals support gun control?

I feel your pain. I work in a school, so 5 days a week, 7:15 A.M. - 4:15 P.M., I must leave my sidearm at home (can't even have it in the car). I think about that everyday.
As soon as I get home, the Kimber goes inside the waistband.

Stay armed...whenever you can...stay safe!
