35yrs ago, there were knives and occasional guns confiscated in the aftermath of gang-level violence in schools where I attended. Thankfully, little of that bled over to innocents, as it was almost exclusively confined to 'bangers. In the past dozen years, there have been a few instances, locally here in the Portland area, where students have been reported (or found) to have weapons at school.

i park my truck off property, so i as soon as i am out, bam, i put my holster on. a lot of the gun crimes here are committed by kids.
