Individuals licensed to carry a concealed pistol by Michigan or another state are prohibited from carrying a concealed pistol on the following premises:

Schools or school property but may carry while in a vehicle on school property while dropping off or picking up if a parent or legal guardian

Public or private day care center, public or private child caring agency, or public or private child placing agency.

Sports arena or stadium

A tavern where the primary source of income is the sale of alcoholic liquor by the glass consumed on the premises

Any property or facility owned or operated by a church, synagogue, mosque, temple, or other place of worship, unless the presiding official allows concealed weapons

An entertainment facility that the individual knows or should know has a seating capacity of 2,500 or more

A hospital

A dormitory or classroom of a community college, college, or university

A Casino

"Premises" does not include the parking areas of the places listed above in 1 through 8.

A pistol is subject to immediate seizure if the CCW permit holder is carrying a pistol in a "pistol free" area. The following penalties may also be imposed:

First offense: State Civil Infraction, $500 fine, CCW permit suspended 6 months
Second offense: 90-day misdemeanor, $1000 fine, CCW permit revoked
Third and subsequent offenses: 4-year felony, $5000 fine, CCW permit revoked

Furthermore, effective March 29, 2001, per Administrative Order 2001-1 of the Michigan Supreme Court:

"Weapons are not permitted in any courtroom, office, or other space used for official court business or by judicial employees unless the chief judge or other person designated by the chief judge has given prior approval consistent with the court's written policy."

Why on God's green earth would you want to move TO New Jersey?

Colorado is great, but probably not the very best. I give NV, IN, PA, UT, AK, and VT the very best. In CO we can carry in bars, Colleges (legal but may be ask to leave), banks, restaurants, all local government buildings that do not have fixed screening, and casinos.

No assault weapons ban (except purchase in Denver)
No mag cap limits (except Denver is limited to 20)
No weird ammo laws
Bars OK
Stand your ground law
No notify LEO unless ask
Douglas County doesn't list your name in the database of ppl of interest
Vehicle carry unrestricted (except Denver without CCW permit)
One handed knives legal
Universities OK (college rules may get you expelled)
Guns and Alcohol limited to DUI rules

I was surprised to find that California has very few restrictions on concealed carry, if you have a permit. State law say nothing about bars or other places that serve alcohol. Nothing I could find anyway, if somebody knows different, and can point me to the law I'd appreciate it. I don't frequent bars any more, but I do eat in places that serve alcohol. Federal buildings are of course off limits, and courthouses. Schools also.

Maybe it's because carry permits are relatively rare in CA, but I have never seen any kind of "no guns allowed" signs in any place of business here.

Idaho: no courthouses, no schools, and no jails. I have only seen one no guns sign and that was at the Social Security office.

Yeah your state is great! Here in Utah we've got some real problems.

Carry in bars, even drink so long as you don't exceed .08
Carry on public campus, school can not expel you.
Could loose job for having gun in car or on person at work.
No mag cap limits.
No weapon signs get laughed at.
No carry in jails, court houses, mental institutions, churches that have opted out of which there is only one, or any secure area's.
60 day wait for permit after a 4 hour class.
33 other states accept permit.
Must notify officer.
Gun ranges and gun shops are everywhere.
Desert is 40-50 min away for plinking.

You are correct, but did you know there is a bill to change all that? We ran out of time in 07 but hopefully in 09 we can get it through as well as bring in Castle Doctrine, please join Grass Roots of NC. If you care about your gun rights you must join up. Nobody does more for our gun rights than this organization, their email alerts have saved our gun laws from being changed for the negative several times.

Georgia's laws are getting better, thanks to georgiacarry.org and, as you may have seen, are in the national news. Atlanta is trying to fight the new law allowing carry in public transportation. Under the new law the restrictions are:

No publicly owned (government) buildings.
Churches.
Political, sports or religious gatherings.
Other events where people are gathered for a "particular" reason.
Inside school buildings.
Bars.
