Here is a link to the accomplice video. Can't make much out of what he says either, but he is a wee bit more articulate than the shooter.

Hadn't seen that one. Interesting that the guy said they thought their victim was armed, even though, according to the OP's article, he was not that night.

Is this hard to understand? Then why does it get unintelligible to some people when 5 little words are changed?

I carry everywhere. I recently went down the Guadalupe River and could not carry because I had no way to hide a gun, I had a group of students with me and could neither defend myself nor them, I hated that feeling.

Yep.... got approached by a guy... and all types of red flags came up. I had my 2 grandkids with me, ... and we were at a place checking it out as a potential for my daughter's wedding. My 'gut' feeling has served me well in many situations (long story). I had just come from work, and they are one of those businesses who will fire you if you have a gun in your trunk, so after work we're left unarmed as well wherever else we go ... such as this ....

I was right to be "aware".... and when this guy got close... asking for some money, I noticed he had one hand always under his jacket ( a jacket and sweat suit on a 100* humid day ?? ). Few moments later noticed a knife under there that he had at the ready in his hand. Talked to him and then walked from the situation.... he knew, I knew... and I think he was afraid to give it a try because I was not showing any fear or nervousness at all.... and he couldn't decide if maybe I was armed (he even asked me if I carried & I just smiled) . That told me, he was worried about people carrying and getting his own backside shot. He kept checking out my shirt and waist line and I kept my right side away and unvisible to him no matter which way he went, as he bounced around.

But, damn was I ticked for being unarmed... and cussing my place of work for their anti- BS. I want to hurry up and retire or figure out a way to conceal a gun in my car that they won't ever know at work.

Very sad outcome for the family!!! I just don't understand...If someone has nothing to live for and don't enjoy the air we breathe...Why kill someone else? Such a Coward....should have turn the gun on himself...Instead of causing this family grief and wanting the City/State to do what he could not...

As it should be. Good job with your SA, even if you were forbidden from having the means to back it up. Off-site parking is your friend, if practical.

I found that after listening intently twice, I began to understand what he said.
He's utterly unintelligible. It's obvious he cares nothing about life or morality. About the only non-babble he spoke were the words "... know what I'm sayin'?" (No. Actually, I don't have the first clue what you're sayin', pal. Speak clearly and use English.)

Lesson: EVIL EXISTS. Here in this video with this crime, you've seen a stark example. Don't underestimate its power to crush you. Carry everywhere, carry always, 'cause you never know when evil can strike.

The only way around that is: chaparone mode. If there's a choice between being disarmed or being able to protect your charges, decide which is more important.

And yet, of the thousands who probably watched that video in the viewing area where it was broadcast, there are still those who believe, "Yeah, but it won't happen to me!"

Hopefully there are no one on this forum who is so naive as to believe that.

And yet there are there are tons of people on the forum who don't carry everyday for whatever reason. I know some of them are not allowed because of absurd state laws like you can't have a gun in MY parking lot or I'll fire you, and such like that. But for those who have no other reason not to carry all the time, I wonder why they bothered to get their permit.

I say all the time... Survival is a personal thing. It all depends on the value you place on your own life as to how much you want to invest in your own survival.

Stay armed, stay safe!

Speaking of how attacks can happen anywhere, this just in: Murder/suicide by knife-wielding man claims life of an American, at a tourist attraction a couple miles from the Olympic stadium in Beijing.
