ccw9mm... I'm just watching that on FNC now... Looks like "China's Segway Security Cops" are working out real well, so far!

Although, Minneapolis, MN is often called Murderapolis, our murder rate for the city in which I live is actually down from last year at this time. But, it seems like there are stabbings, muggings, and shootings everyday here. I live in a small fairly quiet neighborhood in Mpls, but I never feel like carrying a gun is not warranted.

I was out a few nights ago having a few drinks, so needless to say I was not carrying. I really hate the feeling of not being able to protect myself against thugs that are armed. Even in a large group of my buddies and I, I always feel the need to carry.

Carry everyday always. No exceptions.

Investigators said it appeared he did not have his service weapon with him when he died.

These tragic stories give reinforcement about always being prepared and always, always carrying.

I think I just learned my lesson.

I heard about this on our local news. They said the kids were 16 years old that did this? What type of monsters are we raising?? My wife picks at me for always having my sidearm or two with me at all times, but I promise you if thugs are going to take me out the story is going to go a little different!! Hopefully taking them with me!!
Be safe, be prepared at all times!!!

Ugh, I watched that drivel. Good lesson, but that waste of skin can rot in hell just the same.

I work in Mexico...

My 'gut' feeling has served me well in many situations (long story). I had just come from work, and they are one of those businesses who will fire you if you have a gun in your trunk, so after work we're left unarmed as well wherever else we go ... such as this ....

I was right to be "aware".... and when this guy got close... asking for some money, I noticed he had one hand always under his jacket ( a jacket and sweat suit on a 100* humid day ?? ). Few moments later noticed a knife under there that he had at the ready in his hand. Talked to him and then walked from the situation.... he knew, I knew... and I think he was afraid to give it a try because I was not showing any fear or nervousness at all.... and he couldn't decide if maybe I was armed (he even asked me if I carried & I just smiled) . That told me, he was worried about people carrying and getting his own backside shot. He kept checking out my shirt and waist line and I kept my right side away and unvisible to him no matter which way he went, as he bounced around.

But, damn was I ticked for being unarmed... and cussing my place of work for their anti- BS. I want to hurry up and retire or figure out a way to conceal a gun in my car that they won't ever know at work.
I cross the border everyday into Mexico and almost every other day, on my way in, get pulled for inspection by the Mexican military so no carry for me during my work day. Good thing the international bridge is only about a mile from the my work area. I work in a controlled environment with gated security and we have never had a problem, but that leaves me unarmed during my commute. All you can do sometimes is remain aware of your surroundings and listen to that little voice in your head.

Then why did he go through the trouble of getting his CCW?

Maybe he was disappointed they didn't actually issue him a CHL badge?

primarily so he didn't have to pay the $25 brady tax each time he buys a gun... a bunch of people in NV have a ccw just for that reason alone.
