This in no way reflects upon that right, nor does it mean you have waived it by asking "permission" to carry. If the situation is such that you must carry without a permit, you can rest easy in the knowledge that you are exercising your rights as recognized by our Constitution. That may be cold comfort if the "law" decides to imprison you for exercising that right. Hence, we get permits.

Just keeping it all straight!
Actally, that was very well said! ......as were many of the posts.

Just wondering if any states actually call it a permit?
Semantics! Permit, license... really just splitting hairs as far as I'm concerned. Don't care what you call it. It's required by law and it allows you to carry a concealed weapon. Without one... go to jail! Spend lots of money and still end up with a criminal record.

There's the constitution and all it states and then there's reality.

Don't believe me , try it!!

Duhh come on you know nothing I said implied it is not the law or that we should not comply with the law. Only that the law is asinine at best. Still those unconstitutional pieces of paper are not universal. Only in restrictive nanny states like those we live in. Vermont and Alaska have it right no license no paperwork, no registration, no certification, no qualification buy your gun where ever strap in on however and go where ever as free men should. There is no reason that the rest of the country can not be like that. I am becoming increasingly convinced it is not because of the antis propaganda or illogical emotional rants but rather because so called 2 A advocates are willing to accept our constitutional rights being infringed upon. Some would go so far as to support the anti self defense fanatics demands for registration certification licensing insisting everyone to get permission and approval to exercise our God given rights.
