Started the plunge today.

I officially signed up for my CCW course today... Now the wait to the actual class, which is sept 13th, then the wait for the actual permit....

Its about time I got my lazy butt around to it!

I was also given a Surefire 6P today.. SCORE!

Now I just need to take the plunge on a GOOD IWB for my G19... My Galco SS won't cut it very long I am sure.

As much as we make light of some situations around here, once you strap it on, it is a very sobering and serious responsibility you take upon yourself.

Can't get anything sooner, lol!!! I have had mine for almost 13 years, seems like yesterday. For a great IWB holster check out the new Thunderbird from K&D, it converts from IWB to OWB. It may not be on Kevin's website but I started a couple threads about it in the Holster section.

Why wait? The journey doesnt (shouldnt) or end with the CCW class. Find some sort of classes to take sooner, you'll be far better prepared in the long run.

I did not start this lightly, I did a TON of research mostly here. I modified my daily habits quite a bit, I have started carrying a good light, that was just replaced by the mentioned surefire, this thing is so cool!, along with a good defensive knife in addition to my EDC beater knife. I spent alot of time thinking about my carry pistol, my g19 will remain in the stable, but a 3 or 3.5 inch 1911 will join it very shortly.. I just want one bad. :D

As for the holster, thanks for mentioning K&D has a new one! I really like Kevin's work. A defender was what I had in mind, I love leather and the adjustability of the Kydex clips.

I also will be looking for some force on force training, Michel Brown does classes that are not to far away, and well he's the effing man. :P
