First of all, thanks for the great welcome from everybody. I'm really glad I joined. I've been on a couple of other forums, but this one really does seem to be one of the best. I've never received such a welcome. Sincerely, Thank You all and I look forward to our discussions.

But enough of that mushy stuff, on to the important news of the day. Right after work, I'll be going to the courthouse to put in my application for my concealed carry permit! I have the $40 in my wallet and the filled out application in my desk. I can hardly wait, but they have 45 days to give it to me, or not. There's no reason not to, but there has been a crazy judge that has been turning down folks for no reason. He's been reprimanded for it I think, I just hope I get a different judge. Those of you that pray could send a few up for me, that'd be great.

I'll keep everyone posted as to when I get it and can finally start carrying my S&W M&P Compact 9mm.

You also may want to join the Virginia Citizens Defense League (Virginia Citizens Defense League, Inc. (VCDL)) to keep up to date on gun laws in VA, proposed legislation, and get togethers for dinner.

It's also a good idea to notify them if you get denied your CHL...they tend to stop a lot of the buffoonery "activist" judges do to (illegally) prevent people from getting their CHL.

I put it in yesterday. The Deputy Clerk of the Court said it usually takes around 4 weeks and then they'd send me a notice in the mail to come and pick it up. She was very nice and courteous. Now the wait...
