Application question..question

This is my first post and have a question. I applied for my Texas CC license online yesterday and I'm worried I screwed up. When I got to the question regarding if I had ever been arrested for anything, I checked NO. However, I was arrested over 25years ago for a Public Intox with some friends then later for a Traffic Ticket my lawyer didn't take care of.
Is this a deal breaker and is there anyway I can fix what I have already done by contacting the DPS?

Thanks

If they find the arrest record they will probably send you a letter asking for information on the arrest and disposition of the case, which means you will need to go to the courthouse and find the journal entry showing the arrest and the case disposition, then mail them a notarized copy showing that you were found guilty ,paid a fine, community service ,whatever and that you had paid all fines and conditions of sentencing.what you did was very possibly delay your application by several more months,I had an arrest over 15 years ago and even tho I notified them I never sent in a notarized disposition, they found the arrest and I responded with the paperwork, back when it took about 60 days to get a license took me almost 5 months.

You may call them and let them know, then go ahead and get the paperwork and send it in ahead of time so they can put it with your application and that way there is no delay.

I would be inclined to call or e-mail DPS

I would be inclined to call or e-mail DPS and tell them what occurred.
The reason, if you don't attempt to set the record straight it might look to them as if you deliberately perjured yourself. By speaking up perhaps you can blunt any such accusation.

IANAL, above is my personal opinion and not legal advice.

You might actually want to talk to a real lawyer before you do anything further.

I know in OK that if you are caught not telling the whole truth...especially arrest records...they deny period. I agree with Hopyard.

I agree with the above posters...make the call and discuss your problem(s) with them(DPS).

You might even re-apply online if the system will let you, and in a comments field add "to replace incorrect earlier application - checked wrong box"... and then follow with a call.

Thanks for all the replies.

I was able to get back into my application and edit it. I guess it takes awhile before they process it and take it off line. I do feel much better about disclosing that stupid stuff. I sent an e-mail to the county criminal records department asking how to obtain my old records. It was so long ago I don't remember the date or anything else about it. I just remember thinking that a cement table and iron bars was the last place i wanted to be. Never been back!

If loose gun laws are good for criminals, why do criminals support gun control?

Thanks 64zebra. I did send an email to them explaining that I edited the question. I asked if the updated answer had been accepted on my application.
