I'm a teacher/coach and my school gave me a week of leave to go to LFI.

Dyn-O-mite...you're very fortunate to be able to carry at your job.

Stay armed...thank God for that...stay safe!

My personal opinion is that every church, synagogue, AKA "house of worship" should have at least one trusted, qualified, and cool headed armed individual on the premises.
For obvious reasons these days.

The first Sunday that we could (legally) carry in churches here in GA I did (not gonna talk about before, the wife likes the don't ask don't tell). It's that whole 'guns and religion' thing, I guess.

Congrats on being allowed to carry at work. I wish more companies would allow, mine doesn't even want them on property in private cars. At my workcenter about 1/2 carry in cars and 1/3 have CCW. Yea, we ignore management often.

Congrats and well done!
I rejoice in your employment and in your employer!
Alas, I work for a municipality which forbids a firearm even in the employee's vehicle when on property. I believe this violates Ohio's pre-emption statute, but it's a firing offense for the first time and I can't risk losing job/house/car/wife by being a test case!

Wow, an employer sanctioned SHEEPDOG to watch over the flock!

We really need a sheepdog emoticon on here. How about it moderators?

Apparently my boss may have mentioned to the head of security that the two of us are getting our CHL and that I have in fact taken the class already.

I thought I was sunk at this point, but I couldn't have been more wrong. Brad goes on to tell me that since we work on the opposite side of the building from everyone during the week that he'd like my boss and I to meet up with their police liason to get some training on defensive hangun/crisis management/tactical matters. He also mentioned that he would let the security officers (off duty LEO's in uniform and plainclothes) know what I look like once I get my permit so that I don't get tackled if I end up printing a little. He then invited me to work security once I had my permit in the youth building during their services on week nights.

So... I guess this means I can carry at work, huh?
Good for you, but Brad would have had something broken if he had put his arm around me. I don't like that and as a permit holder, I have made it a habit to keep a distance and to be aware when people get too close.

Well... Brad's a good guy, he was just trying to be funny. I saw him walking towards me, but turned back to the conversation I was having (I was in full blown producer mode so I was pretty stinkin' busy) and he stood there waiting to talk to me. When he finally saw me turn towards him he thought he'd pat me down instead of shaking my hand... all in all it was a funny moment.
