I figured as much, it's my aunt that lives there. She has an antique store last I knew. I haven't talked to them in forever....well, since my grandmother passed away....she was staying with them and apparently with alzheimers. Since she's been gone we don't connect as often as we should. Thanks for the image though, of how things still are. I miss it in a way.

I'm sure I don't sound realistic on the issues, but something has to give. Misappropriation of funds and other terms are used around here, and the media gets ahold of them and investigations start.
I was born in Oneonta, NY and raised until age 12 through a few NY, PA towns to include Oneonta, Endicott, and Scranton, PA. My grandmother lived in Cooperstown all her life and my mother's side of the family lived near West Burlington. I loved the cold and the snowy winters back then being just a kid. Living in the southwest now, I still yearn for the heavy snows and the clean air that follows, the fishing on lake Oswego with my grandpa and grandma and catching a lot of perch. I still have aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews that live in the northeast, including Paramus, NJ and E.Greenbush, NY. I don't know how things are today, but when I was a kid, a 30 minute drive got you out of town and into the outback and dairy farm land. Could be three miles before you saw the next ranch or house from the road. I know what fresh apple cider is, I know what real maple sugar candy tastes like, and by golly, for being in the original thirteen colonies, I'd think that radical change would be commonplace for the northeast states. Thanks for listening to a former Yankee, my heart is here in the south-central, my mind retains alot of my past and sometimes I wish it could all be put together. Again...my sympathies for those being tested in these times. Surely there is a brighter future. My hopes are nationwide, we're all brothers, and I hate to see a brother suffer in any way due to the establishment. It's just not right.

As for the first part of your reply, remember we have Hillery Clinton as a senator. I am sure you know her stance on guns.I would not look for her to do anything but impede us in our hope of any fair play.
Second, if you really miss the winters, I invite you to my home as shoveling the beauty of the northeast it is so much fun after one of those heavy snowfalls. You are correct about all the clean air,the fishing and the country though. I am lucky enough to live in the country where I can only even see one neighbors home from my property.
You are also right we are all brothers, and I do not like to see another brother suffer.
God Bless

Same in Mississippi except if you have a valid Mississippi Firearms Permit (CHL), they waive the call-in. Fill out the form, show the card, pay the man and take off with your new toy.

As long as i have some coupons i can go in and walk out with gun. also there no expire date on coupon i carry a spare in my wallet ive had for a year.
Delaware County works very similar to that from what I understand. I was at a show just the other day and if I had my permit (waiting the process out) I could have purchased there anyway. The pistol clerk was sitting at the next table over handing out applications!

State Law is as follows;
"The licensing officer may, in his discretion, add restrictions to the license, limiting the places where the handgun may be kept or carried."

NY State Police follow whatever restrictions are on the permit:

Unrestricted
Target
Hunting
Business

or whatever the licensing officer (judge or whoever) puts on the permit..

Thanks for the clarification Bosco. That makes sense. Although a few fellas at the gun store seem to disagree with classifications and I have heard them on more than one occasion tell other customers that the restrictions are really not enforceable and once a permit is issued for any classification, and any permit level makes it ok to carry. I don't know the source of their information so I don't chime in. I like my unrestricted permit and wouldn't want to do anything to jeopardize it. Call me cautious, but that's just how I roll...
