Probablility of acquiring a NYC concealed permit

I live in CT, and I would feel alot better having my sidearm with me when traveling back and fourth from NYC. I don't really see a need to fear anything actually IN NYC. But do always like to be armed. The route from CT to Manhattan is prob the best example of why good citizens should be armed.

I see that it is possible to get a permit. But I wasn't sure if my reason would be good enough for them to grant me a permit.

Any tips? Suggestions?

Take lots of classes that you don't really need.

From what I've heard, NYC is a celebrity-only CCW place. Unless you qualify under LEOSA, it might be difficult. Not to mention NY state(not sure about the city) will only give to NY residents. The fees are also high-I thought I saw it was 3-400 in fees.

The only reason that you need is that you're a legal US citizen.

Just ask Bloomberg, I'm sure he will understand and issue you one on the spot.

Without a "very good reason" and a better lawyer you have no chance.

Unless your very connected to the powers in NYC, no chance is my guess.

Officially, NYC does not issue any permits (carry or otherwise) to non residents. There have been exceptions for the rich and famous or those who have some form of connection to the powers that be.

When I lived in NYC, I had a premises permit, which requires a few hoop-jumping efforts. I started down the path of trying to get a carry permit (limited or unlimited carry) but eventually gave up. It became clear that it was not going to happen. Under the current administration, I'm told that 1/3 of all renewals for all permits (premises and carry) are automatically being rejected with no reason for the rejection. This would require anyone who was a permit holder to turn in their firearms to their local police precinct.

As a non-celebrity and non NYC resident, the chance is so low as to be non-existent.

Ask yourself three questions!

1. Am I rich?
2. Am I a politician?
3. Am I a famous celebrity?

Unless you can answer YES to at least one of these, fagidaboutit!
