This data base is either out of date or very recent. I've had my permit for two years and I don't seem to be on the list.

Here is another view: You have an argument with your neighbor. He finds out you CC and calls the police saying you pulled your weapon.
Now you could have a problem.

Not sure how old or new it is, but if I lived in TN I would be very happy about not being on the list. Permits and licenses should not be public record IMO, and especially not CCW, CCH, CHC license etc etc, makes us easy targets for gun thieves.

Guess what. If you only enter the name of the town you get a comprehensive list of everyone that lives in that town that is permitted!

Wise Bill Victim of Legislative Irregularity

Good Tennesseans addressed this folly last spring. Wise bill would "make the records of HCP holders, "confidential, not available for public inspection and may not be published in
any manner:"
In Chattanooga Times Free Press, on Thursday, April 3 & 4, 2008 (byline, Andy Sher) "State GOP communications director Mr. Hobbs said in an e-mail that “we ...believe Speaker Naifeh’s actions against the interest of law-abiding gun owners this week were so egregious as to deserve a thorough response through the campaign process.” Speaker Naifeh helped kill the measure Thursday after proponents moved it through a House panel when legislative opponents were absent. House Speaker Jimmy Naifeh, D-Covington, and his “anti-gun gang ran roughshod over commonly-accepted parliamentary procedures in order to kill legislation that would have made carry permit holders more secure by protecting their personal identity.”

The bill was sponsored by Rep. Eddie Bass, D-Prospect, and Senate Republican Leader Mark Norris, R-Collierville. Co-sponsors include Rep. Mike Bell, R-Riceville."

There's no good reason to make available the names and locations of good gun owners to bad gun thieves.

I thought that a couple of years ago we had halted this in the legislature, but there is no end as to how low the press will go to make the second amendment seem radical.

Yep, my wife and I are on there. In fact, if you want to find every person in the town you live in who has a permit, just type in the name of the town. It will pull up every permitee in the town.

This is a bunch of crap. And in case anyone wants to send a letter to Mr. Pepe, the editor of the Communist Appeal, I a have his address. Not his address at the news paper. I have his home address. It is a matter of public record and I looked it up. If anyone wants it, I will send it to you.

Maybe getting several hundred letters to his HOME address will make him think twice about this kind of thing.

At first I thought I wasn't on it, then I found myself when I just typed in my name with no other information!

When did privacy become so hard to obtain? When did anonymity become such a bad word?

It looks to be a separate list from database. I know I am in database (Been checked once by LEO) but I am not on list. Got my HCP about 5 months ago.
