No, it has a knife on it most likely and can be used as a weapon.

I love the picture of the Leatherman. Now that's a dangerous weapon! Reminds me of the time I was stopped going into a mall in Jerusalem because I was carrying a Leatherman. I had to leave it in my car. Went into the mall and stopped in a store that was selling...Leathermans, knives, etc.

I don't know about Social Security, but every time I have to go to the IRS, my nuts tighten up.

I'd like to know this as well. I wonder how often we assume something is not legal because that's what we've been told, contrary to what the law actually says.

Just to add a bit more fuel

Personally, I still have trouble reading the statute and being confident that I understand what is allowed and what is prohibited.
When I lived in MA, I never heard boo about carrying in a Post Office.
Now, seems like the topic comes up every 6 weeks or so, and most are sure that it's illegal.

My wife and I went to the local SSA office a year or so ago, so she could apply for her benefits. The armed guard did ask what we had, and looked into her purse.

What really surprised me, though, was when the guard asked if our cell phones had cameras. Because they did, I had to take them out to the car. I saw people using their phones even during the interviews, but cameras are forbidden. ???

I guard an office complex where several federal agencies lease office space. I find it a bit odd that only the SSA, IRS, and VA are posted. We provide external security and the SSA and VA have their own armed officers working the interior, the rest don't.
