The butt of the weapon would be facing the right side,. So when you grab it, you would be reaching back like you would if you had it in the small of your back.. I've never tried to carry this way, but if it works,. GREAT...

I carry around 4-430... I seriously forget I have it on most of the time.. But that comes with time for sure.. Everyone is different and you'll find that place that is comfortable and it just works,. I recommend just trying different areas and see what works for you..

You build, holster and type of weapon will dictate what works for you. Ideally 3:00 (for right handers) is the most desirable position but most will find a 3:30 - 4:30 position conceals the grip better.

I carry a 1911 or SIG P-220 in a VM-II at approximately 4:00

6'3" 215. I tried a lot of holsters and a lot of positions. While the majority of people like the behind the hip, I could not get used to that. I ended up using a CompTac MTAC at 1:30 (appendix carry). I have no comfort issues and it is very accessible and concealable.

Unfortunately, I think you will have to try multiple positions with multiple holsters (hence the proverbial drawer full of holsters) to determine what works best for you.

My EDC is a Beretta PX4 in .40 cal using a Crossbreed Supertuck at 4:30 to 5 ish. I use an undershirt with a button down shirt over that usually isn't tucked in.

As far as best... Dunno. Whatever provides the best compromise with comfort, concealability, and what you are willing to carry daily.

Good luck.

I do not wear it over the spine, but rather over the right kidney...5:00 is my strong side.

If you only wear it at 5 O'clock, how do you protect yourself the rest of the time? Bring along guys that carry at 4 and 6 PM?
