I wouldn't feed Ol Roy to a plant. Although, the joke was pretty funny.
Seriously, it is the dog food equivalent to a junk food diet.

Yeah, probably just bad luck.
I think the only way to make my dog mean is to feed him ''Ol' Roy".

Wally World's private-label bag of dog chow: Ol' Roy, 44 lb sack: click.

Just about the sort of thing you don't want to smell like:
Quote:
Crunchy Texture ... No Dog Can Resist Ol' Roy ... Meaty Kibbles ... Dog-Pleasing Flavor ... Scrub Your Dog's Teeth With Every Bite ... Helps Reduce Plaque and Tartar Buildup That Can Lead to Bad Breath.
Sort of reminds me of the film Poetic Justice. When asked why he doesn't simply pepper spray the big dogs on the mail route, "Lucky" (Tupac Shakur's character) replies:
Quote:
"That stuff is like Binaca to them rottweilers! Y'all don't pay me enough!"
Moral of the story: easy on the "Binaca."

A couple of years ago my wife was bitten by a Boxer that charged her. If I had been with her when it happened there would have been a different outcome, guaranteed. If these boxers in question charged a full grown man, what's to stop them from charging women or children? You cannot predict a charging dog's intentions unless you have a personal relationship with them. Period.

I would rather defend myself from a puppy by other means than by reaching for a gun, which is the only reason we're discussing this topic on this forum. A gun is not even a potential solution to all problems with self defense. Maybe our OP will learn that, hopefully, before he becomes a cop.

The way you wrote it did put a smile on my face. I live in a populated area that used to be a rural area. The people that live out here still think that it is governed by back woods rules and let their dogs run loose. This is the way it was explained to me by the Village Government. There is a very high population of dogs. When we first moved in there were 14 dogs, not loose just family pets, living in the homes immediately surrounding us. This should give a visual of the concentration of dogs out here. I haven't seen anything like it and I was unfortunate enough to have to move thirteen times with my family into different types of settings. And I probably am a bit unlucky.

You have to be kidding me. I can understand why the officer told you not to carry gun, he's probably afraid you would shoot a fast approaching child on a menacing looking bicycle.

Seems to me that two boxers attacking in tandem are a far, far cry from a young child on a bicycle.

14 pages of reply's and only a few that totally don't agree that the dog could have been a threat. Hmmmmmmmmmmm.
