Once again, (1) for someone who wasn't there and (2) did not see the animals in question, you sure are quick to pass judgement on the OP's actions. Absent personal presence at the scene, your opinion is nothing more than silly nonsense.

This isn't a good way to make a point...with this, then basically every person that posted about how the OP was right is also engaging in "silly nonsense."

Sorry folks, but you guys can go on and on about the irresponsibility of dog owners, their vicious puppies (still laughing, I can't help it!), and whether or not macing the little guy is going to teach that irresponsible owner a lesson he so rightly deserves.

The relevant topic for this forum was the gun. My advice is that you better have a good lawyer and a big stash of cash before you start drawing your gun down on puppies. There's going to be a lot of people in the community that think your irresponsible use of a gun is a lot bigger risk to the community than the man who violated the leash law and his puppy.
Let me clarify something, in the written English language the following applies: The guy started screaming at me "What the H is wrong with you he is just a puppy he isn't going to hurt you, this is ridiculous!" The " marks are call quotation marks and they mean that the person preceding the first mark is the person who said what follows that quotation mark. Not the author of the written statement. This is true of forums, books, magazines, and all forms of literature.

You might want to reread the original post again because nowhere does the OP refer to the dogs as puppy or puppies. He merely quotes what the dogs owner said. The "dog owner" call his dog a"puppy". See the little "marks" around the "words". They are called "quotation marks". Meaning someone besides the writer is speaking.

I'm passing judgment based upon the same first person account of the events as everyone else. I've owned large dog breeds with a reputation for aggression all my life. I've been standing on all sides of this issue many times before. I've seen a grown man screaming like a little girl just about wetting his pants over a three month old puppy that was just barking at him. I've been confronted on the street by a growling mastiff. I've had to defend myself from two grown german shepherds aggressively tag teaming me, and I think I can tell the difference. I've been around dogs enough to be confident that this was no where near the kind of dire situation that would justify drawing a gun on a puppy.

The topic at hand according to your own eyewitness account is that you were about to draw your gun on a puppy.

Neither is insulting someone by laughing at them and calling them a "mall ninja"

AVGEEKJL - totally agree with your position.
It do a lot of outdoor activities and such, including walking, biking, running and it's definitely a pet peeve of mine (excuse the pun). My dogs are always in my control when out of the pen...
