This is the wording that you need to look for when entering a place that sells alcohol. It is very noticable. A great big 51% in read and the other wording. If it doesn't look and read like this you don't have to pay attention to it.

Sec. 411.204. NOTICE REQUIRED ON CERTAIN PREMISES. (a) A business that has a permit or license issued under Chapter 25, 28, 32, 69, or 74, Alcoholic Beverage Code, and that derives 51 percent or more of its income from the sale of alcoholic beverages for on-premises consumption as determined by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission under Section 104.06, Alcoholic Beverage Code, shall prominently display at each entrance to the business premises a sign that complies with the requirements of Subsection (c).

(c) The sign required under Subsections (a) and (b) must give notice in both English and Spanish that it is unlawful for a person licensed under this subchapter to carry a handgun on the premises. The sign must appear in contrasting colors with block letters at least one inch in height and must include on its face the number "51" printed in solid red at least five inches in height. The sign shall be displayed in a conspicuous manner clearly visible to the public.

hey saw a sign in texas outside a hooters that just said no handguns allowed inside. do they make 51% or more from alcohol sales? or is that sign bogus?
In Texas, unless private property is a properly posted with a "30.06" or "51%" sign, the generic "No firearms" signs mean absolutely nothing.

Every single guy from my work who retires wants to go to a Hooters for his retirement beer party. The food is terrible, but they enjoy the hugs and the flirts from the lassies there. We took some nice pics over the years, but the guys who retired are a bit too well known for me to share ;-)

Hooters is ok, but I can't remember the last time it was my idea to go there. The food's allright, but nothing special.
My wife loves wings and is hotter than 90% of the girls you'll see there so it's usually her idea.
The rest of the time it's my friend Mike's idea. He's like 14 or 15 years older than me and likes to go there because he likes the girls and the attention he gets from them. I guess it's just depends on what era you grew up in.
