I would leave the store in that senario. I hate to draw attention to myself. At the same time you need to realize you did nothing wrong and the worst that will happen is a police officer will tell you to be more careful.

I would also add that accidentally exposing your concealed firearm is nothing to be proud of....

I doubt anyone will notice. If they do just stay calm and go about your buisness. Your legal. Just dont freak out yourself.

Having OCd often--really, no one really pays attention...remember, it's all about "them"...self-absorbed people who are ignorant of everything in the world (think: Condition White...as in sheep). It's only when they lift their heads from their Crackberry, tweeting/IMing/Chatting/texting do they actually pay attention (or they run into you--as it's happened to me--"oops, sorry officer"....."no problem, except I'm not a police officer"...)

If it's legal in your state, you may do so....If a place is posted (and the signs hold legal weight), then you might run into problems (legally). But seriously...people are not that observant.

It would be a bigger problem for me in Texas where OC is prohibited, but I would just cover it back up and get back to my shopping. If LEOs show up, I have a talk with them. Texas law has pretty specific language, but it does seem to allow for a little slip like that.

If you live in a state where OC is legal (which NC is) it isn't a problem and is nothing to be ashamed of either.

You're worrying entirely too much.

I open carry every time I go to Wallmart. Dozens of times and have yet to witness a freakout.

Dealings with employees and management have gone without a hitch.

Dealings with cart traffic jams, etc. have been uneventful as well.

Don't freak out Francis, keep it together, you're fine.

Nothing. There was no action before, and no action is called for now. People blowing a gasket don't constitute a threat, other than to themselves and the first supervisor bombarded with the knee-jerk fears of nothing.

The cameras will support the non-threatening nature of the situation.

My continued non-threating actions in the store will support the non-threating nature of the situation.

My occasional laughter and chuckles will only serve to remind those around me of the silliness of the unreasonable person's fears.

What do I do? What I originally intended: my own business, non-threating as it was and is.
