I wouldn't ask ,and I wouldn't tell.

These people don't know you from Adam, and you're going to ask if you can bring a gun to work ???

If I was looking, it wouldn't matter to me. Most of the companies I could work for don't allow CCW anyway. With today's economy I wouldn't pass up too many job offers.

I'm not looking, so for me this is academic.

I agree with the tenor of most of the posters. Worry about the job, then read and understand the employee handbook. In this economy I don't think that a person can be super choosy. Maybe take the job that frowns on CC and then keep looking for something better to come along?

I would assume all companies have a no weapons allowed. In my past 25yrs, they all had them

Of course, you should always read any rules or contract carefully.
Exactly. Read the rules. Although a company can change their rules, you can also use company policy in your favor.

Hush Hush.
You will come across as being a highly abnormal and priority skewed individual to the majority of job interviewers if you even ask about that on a job interview.
You might as well not even go to the interview if you plan on asking that.
Unless you're applying for a job at Colt, SIG, Glock or a gun shop.
Just my personal opinion on that.

That's even worse than asking "How many cigarette breaks am I allowed to take per day."

My Other Answer

  1. Check to see if my Florida CCW was good.
  2. If not, check Handgunlaw.us and/or Pack-N-Go Carry Concealed Trip Planner to determine the situation.
  3. If the location is a People's Republic, see if I could live in an ajoining state that was better (if New Jersey, how close is it to Pennsylvania).

The oil company my sister works for had all of their employees get their permits. She carries a Springfield 9mm.
