Hi Oldskoolfan,

You are one that would do well to take out some liability insurance, and maybe retain a lawyer for possible troubles.

I'm a little surprised that your CCW instructor did not teach you the purpose and limitations of a CHL license, plus the legal dangers of trying to be a knight in shining armor and looking for the damsel in distress.

Regards,
Jerry

What do you mean? I was told by my CCW instructor that I have the right to defend myself and others from assaults. If some gunman comes into the place where I work I will send him to meet his maker with two bullets in COM and one to the head. Why would I get sued for that?

My current employer is very gun-friendly. Over half have CHLs (including one of the two active partners, and the other is considering it) and even more are pro-gun.

That said, no one confirms or denies their carry-at-work opinions or activities. I carry there, and my holster belt loops are visible, but nobody has said anything, aside from jokingly asking if Im packing when certain clients come in or unsavory characters loiter in the neighborhood.

Several of my co-workers, including the partners, know I am usually carrying, albeit not necessarily at work. Also we have talked about and handled guns in the office frequently (generally brought in case). All-in-all there seems to be an unspoken "dont ask, dont tell" atmosphere.

Of course, if I was asked not to carry at work, that's what the car safe's for...
