Your @ the Drury @ Union Station? Used to be a hoppin place, not too much there anymore.. If your in to good Italian, the Hill area is about 5 miles from there. Several Italian Joints ranging from cheap and easy to not so cheap and Fancy. Good Places in the Soulard Area (not far from Downtown) The zoo is posted no carry, but all they can do is ask you to leave. (it is a world class zoo and it is free) Any Questions, Feel free to ask.

Fastdraw. I could cut across the hills and hollars to Cape and pick up I-55. The roads are not great. Where do you cross the river to get over to Paducah?

tiwee, when I'm going south out of St Louis I normally follow I-55 to a point pretty far south then exit and hit highway 77. Ultimately I cross the Mississippi into IL, then immediately cross the Ohio River into KY. This keeps me in the Land of Obama about two or so miles (I think, I not looking at a map). From there I take something like highway 62 into Paducah. Sorry I don't remember the exact route. The other way I go is to cross the Mississippi River at Cape Girrardeau, head down to Cairo, IL and then cross the Ohio River into KY. This requires a few more miles (around 30 or so miles) in the Land of Obama.

Note: No offense meant to my gunnie friends in IL.......

Hope that helps..... I'm wiped out from three days of jeeping in the Colorado mountains and too tired to think well......

itow thanks for the restaurants. I like italian but I will have to make sure the rest of my party does as well. I was wondering about the best way to get around downtown. Is the metrolink worth taking or not? Or is walking about as good as anything? I think that for the night ball game a ride in the pickup is going to be the best option as it will be like 10ish before it will be over. I don't think walking 16 blocks through downtown St. Louis at night is a good idea. Plus I will only have to be disarmed at the game that way. Where is the best place to park near the ball park? My in-laws said they usually park at the arch but if I'm going to leave my gun in my truck that would be a no-no because of that stupid national parks ban.

Byron, Metro, if I remember right, is still a few blocks away from Busch, but it is a block away from your hotel. Arch Parking garage is a good little hike to the stadium. Probably further walk than from your hotel. Your actually not that far walking to the stadium (about 10 blocks if I remember right.) It is right down Market, so it is well lit and not a real problem area, usually a few pesky homeless, but still keep your guard up of course. Parking all around the Stadium, but they are talking $20-$30 for parking lots.
