It's a pdf, which I can't paste from. Colorado is on it, woohoo!

(If that link doesn't work for you, try http://www.ago.ne.gov/ and then select the link under "Headlines".)
Good deal. That means we in Colo can travel to any of our bordering states.

Check carefully my friends. Recently several cities/towns in Nebraska could still forbid CCW. Verify with the locals.

This kind of makes me want to come up with a reason to do a little tourism in Nebraska sometime soon. That's excellent!

With the change in law NE now has preemption. Cities can not have laws banning concealed carry. Any regulations they have on the books are null and void if they concern the carrying of concealed firearms. They can pass regs against open carry.

Not as I read this:
Quote:
Nebraska Legislature - Nebraska State Statute Section 17-556

Nebraska Revised Statute 17-556
Revised Statutes » Chapter 17 » 17-556
Public safety; firearms; explosives; riots; regulation.
Print Preview

17-556 Public safety; firearms; explosives; riots; regulation. Cities of the second class and villages shall have power to prevent and restrain riots, routs, noises, disturbances, or disorderly assemblages; to regulate, prevent, restrain, or remove nuisances in residential parts of municipalities and to designate what shall be considered a nuisance; to regulate, punish, and prevent the discharge of firearms, rockets, powder, fireworks, or any other dangerous combustible material in the streets, lots, grounds, alleys, or about or in the vicinity of any buildings; to regulate, prevent, and punish the carrying of concealed weapons, except the carrying of a concealed handgun in compliance with the Concealed Handgun Permit Act; and to arrest, regulate, punish, fine, or set at work on the streets or elsewhere all vagrants and persons found without means of support or some legitimate business.
Quote:
Nebraska Legislature - Nebraska State Statute Section 14-102

Concealed weapons, firearms, fireworks, explosives.

(6) To punish and prevent the carrying of concealed weapons, except the carrying of a concealed handgun in compliance with the Concealed Handgun Permit Act, and the discharge of firearms, fireworks, or explosives of any description within the city, other than the discharge of firearms at a shooting range pursuant to the Nebraska Shooting Range Protection Act;
The first quote covers 2nd class cities & villages. The second quote covers Metropolitan class cities (their largest). While there are other classifications in between these two sizes, all of their laws carry similar language. Looks to me like the state has preemption.

Pretty sure they just passed a premption law that does away with local control. Still a good idea to check though.

Boy, was I too slow on that one.

That's good to know. Now, after spending my first 20 years in Nebraska, why would anyone want to go there? (I know, relatives, but why else). The only more boring drive across a state than Nebraska is Kansas!

Because it feels so good when you leave?
