Find out if Mass. issues non-resident licenses. As I visit Pa. from time to time, my Kentucky license plus $26 dollars got me a 5 year non-resident Pa. license. I don't know where you live, but if you have a CC license for your home state, Mass. might recognize that as well.

Thanks Everybody!!
You'll need that LTC if you go to Temple U. but remember, NO open carry in Phila.

My daughter in-law got her master's at U of Penn. Some areas of Phila are O.K.

If you are considering an Ivy league school or a public Ivy, how about U. Texas, Austin for your list. It would probably do you some good to get away from the NE and find out that there is more to the country than the corridor covered by the Acela train.

Hey I'm actually applying to U. of Texas Austin... its one of two schools Im applying to outside of NE area -- the other is Emory in Atlanta. I do like Texas a lot --- I have family there in San Antonio and every time I visit its a great time..... Yeah your right though prob would do me good to get out of Philly for a while.

Your totally right --- Camden is an armpit.... I rather not be there unarmed for the duration of my schooling... bummer...

That’s messed up you own a jewlery store and you can’t carry a weapon yourself... its absolutely ridiculous that you have to hire someone for a job you can do yourself.

I don't like Atlanta. GA is O.K. Would you consider U GA at Athens? Very nice environment there. Not sure it is in the same league with U Penn or UT, but very close in many fields.

Not true. Unlike the rest of PA, a license is required for open carry in Philly. As long as you have one, open carry is legal.

I was trying to get an idea of how hard it is to obtain a carry permit in certain states.... its really important to me to have my handgun(s) with me.... so if a state is an absolute no go i prob will not apply to any school there b/c I dont want to have to be in a position where I'm tempted to carry illegally.
