Although, as I type this, I think I see a flaw in my plan - what about an air mobile assault? If they breach the ceiling, they could get around my defenses....
Hope the cat doesn't trip it.

I remember the Gunny using one on Mail Call once... I think he found a sliver of the watermelon. The rest of it was in the tree 50 feet up.

How about the guys on bases in theater. You have KBR run community showers, foreign troops, locals hired to clean everything (Afghans First is what they called the program when locals were escorted by KBR to do the work), people getting shocked by the electrical systems in the showers. And Oh yeah you happen to be in the middle of a war zone.

I locked my rifle up, and carried my M-9 in a Ziploc bag hanging in a mesh sack in the shower.

At home I keep it on a shelf next to the shower.

To all the naysayers about having a gun in the shower, you need to watch this "really true video"

It shows you never know who, when, or "how" you will be attacked!

Just to clarify a little on what I started this thread for. I was wondering where the majority of the people store their gun while taking a shower. All this talk about home invasion makes me worry a little. I live alone, and I don't have a dog. I too also have a noisy light/ventalator that goes off at the same time. I can't hear ****. If something is worth doing, its worth over-doing. I know its funny to make jokes, because it is rather humorous. But I noticed a slight pattern in the way people posted. In the beginning most people responded and answered the question legitimately, and all it took was one person to flip it around. Oh well I guess there are guru's and than die hard's.

There are already people that think I'm nuts for owning a gun at all, but that doesn't change the fact that bad guys can strike when it is least convenient or expected, anytime, anywhere: at church, at the gym, at the library, at school, at the doctor's office, at a birthday party, at a wedding, at a funeral, at the grocery store, in gated communities, in upscale neighborhoods, and even in the shower.

Well....

Shower vs. Armed
OK, we all have seen the threads/polls of whether or not we're armed while at home or if we carry, but what about when we are taking a shower?
It's kind of open to some funny statements....

I can see the pros of having a gun in the bathroom, but when people specifically list "While showering" I have to scratch my head and wonder.

There are some guns that I own that a single ounce of moisture will cause to rust, there are some that will not rust no matter how humid, or how much sweat I get on them.

Those guns I would have no issue leaving in the holster on my belt on my folded up jeans sitting on the can if that were my choice. If your gun is prone to rusting and it worries you, don't take it in the bathroom, secure it wherever. If you feel that YOU MUST have a gun withing arms reach at all times, even while covered in soap and lather....well, I'm sure you can think of a way to keep a gun handy. If I ever feel that I must have a gun while in the shower, I'll buy a "Marine" shotgun and mount to the wall over the towel bar...

You know that home invasions happen, right? Where is the rule that says that bad guys only attack when you you are awake, fully dressed, well fed, armed, with a cell phone in one hand and a phone in the other? Bad guys can strike when it is least convenient or expected, anytime, anywhere: at church, at the gym, at the library, at school, at the doctor's office, at a birthday party, at a wedding, at the grocery store, and even in the shower.
KUDOS!
very good point. Thats kind of what I wanted to say, but you said it better! I can't agree more. I wanted to say something along the lines of that. You can't choose when your going to need your firearm. You could be doing anything. If your going to be armed, you mid as well be armed 100% of the time. Not 80, not 90. Your better off not being armed at all, because lightning strikes even when the sky is blue. I almost felt like a sheepdog being ridiculed by some sheep for CWC.

Well this would pertain to carrying. If your worried about someone getting at you when your in your own home watching tv after work, than how could you justify not being worried while doing other vulnerable things inside your home as well. Doesn't add up very well.
