I voted no simply b/c I wont be getting my permit until the following week.

If I had it though, I would carry. I see no reason to do anything any differently on trick or treat night than any other night. A deadly threat is still a deadly threat.

Of course. The only thing different about Halloween is the bad guys are better disguised.

I could understand the reasoning someone might have for not carrying... look at the Baltimore Cop who pulled on a guy working in a haunted house (ok, he was drunk, a little different situation). but trick or treat is usually early enough to still have daylight, so I dont think anyone with good SA would have trouble distiguising a real threat from a guy w/o a chain on his chainsaw

While I don’t have any kids (that I know of) I voted yes, as coriantan points out what better time for the BGs to blend in.

I don't. I am single with no children, therefore no need to go Trick or Treating. I just stay in on that night every year. Plus teenagers come begging for candy in my neighborhood. I say when you're in High School it's time to start going to Halloween parties with your peers. Some of them got very pushy a couple of years ago. I don't hand out candy anymore and turn off my lights until Trick or Treat hours are over.

Of course I plan to carry. I'll do it for the children.
Why wouldn't someone carry on Halloween? It's another day, just like the other 364.

Is there one day a year that crime takes a day off?

Unfortunately I won't be carrying. I'm taking the family to my sister's house in California so that pretty much explains why.

I did however incorporate a real machetti into my costume. I took the edge off of it with a grinder so it's blunt now, but it will make a mean club if it has to. I took the edge off for two reasons; first so I don't slice one of the kids on accident. And second, I don't know what kind of trouble I could get in for walking around with a real machetti. I figured better safe than sorry if I wind up getting any questions about it.

All that said I'd certainly be carrying if I could and will be armed when at the house.
