Do you get the same locker each time? I would set up a video camera in the locker that faces your locker so it records a shoulder level. If it was somebody that works there and they see you again they may be temped to try it again. No cameras in the lobby or parking lot? I would walk the property and look for cameras that may be set up at a neighboing store.

That's not a bad idea.

No, no cameras outside or in. I talked with the owner at length and she expressed a desire to get some, hmmm, wonder why?!

Just curious, is it one of the bigger gym franchises? or is it local? I have a friend that works out at gym in Troy that starts with a b and ends with an ally's. He had his lock "canned"

That sucks man... I'm sorry. I've often thought about locking my gun in the gym locker room b/c I want to be armed as often as I can. Try not to beat yourself up --- you weighed the risk of needing your gun close by (with all the gym shootings -- I want to have a gun close by) vs it being stolen from the locker room. If only there was a half-decent way to carry while working out.... Well hope you have another gun to carry if not maybe you can use this unforunate event to get that new pistol you have really wanted for a while but couldn't justify buying because your current EDC was working fine.

I understand how rotten you must feel. I keep a firearm with me when I'm at the gym.
When I go to the gym, I keep my Glock in the car (well-hidden) and my P-3AT walks the treadmill with me.

Much easier to have locked your gun in the car, but that's hindsight now.
Hope they catch this dirtbag with a stolen firearm.

Its a one-location privately owned facility.

Thanks for all of the replies and encouragement guys!

Best of luck with your situation, hopefully something positive comes out of it with the insurance.

Combo locks?

Swatspyder (or anyone) -

Can you explain how the "beer can" deal works?

I've used those school type combo locks for years thinking that someone would have to use a bolt cutter to get in.

Looks like I was way wrong.

Any info appreciated.

Guns and more
If the thief wanted to pawn it he would have taken billfolds and cash too.
He had to come in with bolt cutters, or it was an inside job.
I vote employee.
