Thats why you should always carry not just sometimes. The guy thought he was going to just going to visit his wife business as usual not a shootout! Its a good thing he was prepared!

I hate to be a downer, but I don't see a "great ending" at all. One innocent woman is dead, and two innocent people are injured. I'm glad it didn't go any further, but it's not a great outcome.

Good on the gentleman for preparedness, but still. I know it could have been worse, but that is little to no solace to the families of the lost or injured.

In some states, hospitals are "Gun Free" zones. Thankfully, my state isn't, nor is Montana.

I've not seen this news report before, and it COULD have been a lot worse. An armed citizen DID save the day...could have been a school, a mall, or even Columbine. We'll never know how bad it may have been without an armed citizen around, and the news media does not want you to know either...that's why it's not been a story reported much. IMHO
Thanks for posting. ![]()

Misunderstanding of the use of the words "great ending."
I understand what it ment. It was great that a person with a legal permit and firearm engaged a not-so-legal person. It was great that the CCW guy wasn't injured too severely or killed, and that his shooting was good and did no harm to other innocent people. It was great that the law enforcement people were able to track said pond-scum-sucking-less-than-human to where he decided to take the coward's way out and shoot himself and not at the LEO's. Good. In light of poor choice of descriptive words, it is good/great that this situation didn't go much worse than it already did. We know that the OP probably does feel sorrow for the victim and doesn't in any way think a devestating incident like this is great. We need more like the CCW guy. That would be great.

That's funny, I haven't heard about this... but why oh why isn't the major media covering it?

My wife was a nurse at a hospital for years and iit's never really safe at most of the major city hospitals. Well, not here anyhow. And as usual, in Indiana we can carry in a hospital and the idea of a "sign" stopping me seems so foreign.
