Defensive Pistol Skills 101 From Rochester Personal Defense

Rochester Personal Defense has another Defensive Firearms Skills 101 class scheduled. This class has proven to be highly informative and an overall good time. The class was formed with the idea of taking the student from a level of being able to use the firearm and working them into learning how to shoot in a defensive situation, think, act, and respond effectively, and be able to WIN an encounter.

Here are the details:
We will cover:

* Firearm safety
* Legalities and justification in self defense (Article 35)
* Deescalation and disengagement from an encounter
* Verbal commands
* Drawing the handgun effectively and safely
* Trigger control and manipulation
* Malfunctions and stoppage clearing
* Tactical vs combat reloading
* Use of cover and concealment
* Movement and shooting while moving

You will get to practice all of the skills with an unloaded handgun until you are comfortable, then you will get to go live on the range.

Equipment needed:
Eye and ear protection,
A working and reliable firearm,
300 rounds of ammunition,
3 magazines or speedloaders with holders,
a quality strong side type holster,
comfortable clothing (comfy shoes and appropriate clothing).

Date/Time: May 4th, 2008 - 8am to 5pm

1570 Old Penfield Rd, Rochester, NY 14625
Cost: 75.00 per person
Class size: 20 people max.
