Subject: Scary news out of ATK on ammo situation.

ATK runs the Lake City ammo plant for the Govt.
They also own Federal , CCI, SPEER, LAWMAN AND BLOUNT.

Deliveries will be hard to come by and they will carry hefty price increases. You probably already have noticed.

We will be raising the prices on the USGI Lake City green tip 62 grain ammo quite a bit, and the Federal 50 grain hollow point ammo.
All price increases come direct from the manufacturer and have to be passed on.These price increases will be posted any day, so order now if interested.

We also got another load of the Federal 45 and 9mm in stock. We expect a large load of the 40 so no worries there.

Many other calibers have sales posted so click the item you are interested in and scroll through the listings.

We update the
website twice a day.
THE PRICE YOU SEE ON ALL AMMOMAN PRODUCTS IS, THE PRICE YOU PAY TO YOUR DOOR.

That sucks. How come ammo (7.62x39 specificly) is getting harder to find and more expensive?

My understanding is that the .gov is buying lots of 7.62x39 to equip the Iraqi army and police.

The mid-east situation is a big reason, but part of the expense is also metal prices. Copper prices especially have gone through the roof. It's expected to come down a bit by the end of the year, but not to where it was a few years ago.

There's a limited supply of copper (we've mined 50% of easily available stuff already) and not enough to go around to industrialize every other nation to the extent the US is. I expect it just to get worse...

Gas prices are another reason. Ammo is heavy and it costs extra money now to get the ore out of the ground and to the refinery, the metal to the bullet maker, and the bullets to you. All of that gets passed on to the consumer.

So in a couple years we'll be shooting Plastic Bullets out of
our Plastic Guns?

I don't know, I've been hearing about these higher prices and lower availability for months now, the prices haven't gone up yet, and aside from the cheap 7.62x39, I haven't seen less available.
