Glad you brought this up Ridgerunner. I don't carry an extra mag, figuring 9 or 10 rounds would be enough for most situations I would find myself in. After reading this thread, I'm reconsidering, mostly due to the mag. malfunction issue. A second gun is another option, as my NAA .32 probably weighs around as much as a hi-cap mag.

Always 2 extra Wilson 7-round magazines for my Ultra Carry .45ACP, usually in a Milt Sparks IWB double pouch on the left, with the UC IWB over my right hip. When I use the SmartCarry for deeper concealment, I put the 2 extra magazines in the pouch opposite the UC. Always keep those 22 rounds of .45ACP communications enhancement handy.

Yes I do. Always one spare magazine, sometimes two.
Here is my normal carry gear load out...

At 12 +1 in my XD-40 and a P3AT BUG, I rarely cary an extra mag. If I've only got the KelTec, I always carry an extra. If I find a mag carrier that I actually like, I might change my ways.

Always carry at least 1 extra magazine.
If I'm belt carrying it's usually one, my shoulder rig has room for two, so why not?

13+1 in the gun, 13 more in a second mag on the other side of the belt. I use a Blackhawk CQC carbon fiber mag holder.
I may start looking for a mag holder that rides closer to the belt. The Blackhawk's modular clip system makes it stick out a bit.
