I was at the local Academy store today and they have the Remington value pack of 250 rds of .45 ACP for $69. Not too bad, but it was $59 about 6 months ago. As for W-World, I bought a few boxes of CCI brass 9mm FMJ last month for $5.99.

I paid around $23 for a box of 100 Remington UMC JHP .40 cal. at my Wally Martinez. But its Texas, everything is cheaper. There is also a Carter Country that charges around $17 or $18 for Federal self-defense rounds for the same caliber.

I'm glad I shoot 9mm!! Still, prices have gone up from $4.63 a box to over $7. Best deal now is $12.88/100. It's almost becoming worth while to reload 9mm!

Raw prices of brass and copper, lead have gone way up. This will reflect the price increase in ammo to and all products made with it.

My local shop has been warning its customers for months about the pending increase in ammo costs. I took this content from their website current today:
Quote:
These guys are the #1 volume seller of ammo in my state. They have frequent contacts with the industry necessitated by all of the firearm restrictions in DPRM and so if they say its so, I know its safe to take it on their word.

I can't tell you the last time I have bought ammo from wal-mart. They are way too expensive for my taste. Especially when you can find alot of palces that are cheaper.

I usually buy my ammo online, in quantity, in order to save money. I tend to use ammoman.com primarily, but I do check around before I buy. Also, Bass Pro Shops will frequently have sales, and they now have a location in Vegas, so I will go there ocasionakky

Wal-Mart will eventually start selling Norinco ammunition, which means that their ammo will be like all the rest of their merchandise- made by slave labor in a Communist country!

Midway has been sending out monthly price increase warnings since IIRC July.
I bought 10 boxes of Remington UMC .45 ACP JHP today for $9.98/per via Dicks. WalMart had been prior my normal supplier. - Janq
