Question How Fast is it ?

I was given some ammo, (9mm) and have some Questions, Thanks in advance.

It is Remington 9mm Luger (subsonic) 147gr JKTD Hollow Pt.
1. What is the MV ?

2. is there a special use for The SS round?

3. Is it more expensive than non SS HP ?

Thanks; Slider

If it s subsonic then it'll be around 900-1000 FPS but less than 1050.

The heavy subsonics were devoloped for suppressed weapons. The increased bullet weight helped to cycle the actions on full auto weapons used by the cops and the military. Some guns subguns sufferred from erratic operation due to the mass of the standard 9MM bullets and the heavier design pretty much cured that.

It depends on where you get it. Ive seen it the same price as standard ammo and Ive seen it a bit higher.

The newer subsoniic ammo is much better than the original stuff that came out over a decade ago. At first, problems with expansion occured due to the low velocity. Eventually, the industry figured out that they needed to use softer lead and softer jackets and that helped considerably. The subsonic ammo of today is more efficient and seems to work well.
