I honestly didn't know 10mm was so powerful, the ballistics are very impressive, makes me wonder why more LEO don't use it.
I'm a big fan of the 1911 platform to begin with but I'm not stuck in a rut, any platforms to avoid in 10mm?
The Fish case was a clear example of a prosecutor with an agenda IMHO. I also think Fish's defense counsel should have deposed former LEO firearms trainers for departments that issued the 10mm, starting with FBI SAC John Hall of the Firearms Training Unit. That should have dealt with the contention that carrying the 10mm equalled being a wannabe bloodthirsty killer.

I would probably avoid the rare Star Megastar and Wyoming Arms Parker....and only because they are long out-of-production, so parts and magazines will be hard to come by. Then again, some Bren Tens were rumored to have had problems. Hopefully, Vltor will actually bring the Bren Ten back.

Great 10mm to own include the the Glock 20 and 29, any of the S&W's, Dan Wesson, Kimber, and Colt 1911's, and the EAA Witness steel-framed guns (as long as you change out the the weak OEM spring for a Wolff extra power spring and Loctite the rear sight).

Pros: You're right.

Cons: You won't be able to shoot enough people once, COM producing a "perfect" stop, to prove it.

Exactly what's fueling my fire.

Thanks again for all the good info guys especially on the platforms to avoid and round specs.

I have one of the original Delta Elites from Colt and it's a great shooter. I also picked up Kimber's Eclipse Custom II.
I occasionally shoot them in USPSA and at Steel Matches. They really turn heads with the DT loads!

They are my primary 'home invasion' guns, stationed at strategic places around the house.
