A 500 rd order of DoubleTap's 124gr JHP 9mm is ~$250 delivered, and those are using the Speer GD bullet. That isn't nearly as expensive as store-bought 20 rd packs of Speer's GD. ($250 for .40, $295 or so for .45ACP.)

How much ammo do you have at home?

I have about 1,200 rounds in my gun safe.

Nothing fancy, just FMJ and JHP from the sporting goods store.

Actually, range ammo is probably good for zombies because you'll be going for headshots

Enough that the UPS drivers know to just bring it in for my wife so she won't have to wait for me to get home and move it off the porch. I buy what is least expensive for my AK's and such and stack it deep. For my handguns I try to keep at least 500 HD rounds and about that many practice rounds plus reloading stuff for them.

5-6000 rounds of various ammo, mostly pistol in about 6 calibers, some 22, and rifle mixed in. The pistol is mostly FMJ or plain old lead. Then I have enough stuff to build a few thousand rounds more. Man, I am ready for tax season be done so I can go shoot some of this stuff up.
