Not that it matters, but it may be easier, if somewhat more expensive, to make silver buckshot than silver bullets.
If dealing with anything that requires "special ammo", more, and more powerful, has got to be better. |

According to the hunters in Monster Hunter International, if your idea is to use silver as self-defense round against Creatures of The Night, you are equally served by using silver in a regular lead bullet but using the CorBon Pow'RBall design. Instead of the Polymer Cap Call, substitute it with a silver ball. It will save on silver and will have the same results as a full silver bullet with the proven ballistics of your standard ammo.

Casting a bullet in a conventional mould using molten silver is totally impractical because the melting temperature of silver is 1761 degrees F, while lead melts at 621 degrees F.
Silver can't be maintained in its molten state long enough to be poured from the ladle to the mould. Been there, done that (or tried to).

Temperature is an issue with lead bullets...
HOWEVER... If you were to use DPX as your base bullet, which is solid copper, having a melting point of 1984.32 °F, you should be able to pour molten silver into it without issue. Humm. No. No. Mustn't play with molten metal...no matter how much fun it actually is... |

It sounds like this would require a metal working set up similar to that used by a silversmith than a reloader.
I don't think their is much call for ceramic crucibles, high temperature smelting/melting furnaces or equipment able to deal with these temps in common reloading gear. It shouldn't be that difficult to get hold of such gear, but then again, playing with molten metal exceeding 1,500 degrees is probably better left to those with liability policies who can cover it. |

Maybe file one to rough shape, then turn it on a lathe? It'd take forever, but if you only have on werewolf to kill...
