Winchester Silvertip

I'm looking for the Winchester Silvertip 110gr JHP. I'm finding "HP" not the JHP. Whats the difference?

As far as I know, it will be the same thing (in the case of the Silvertip ammunition).

A JHP is a jacketed hollow point-that means a jacket usually of copper over lead. In the case of the Silvertip ammo, I believe the whole bullet is an alloy with no lead--hence it's just termed HP as a whole alloy hollow point bullet.

Winchester Silvertips are copper jacketed lead core bullets with a thin plating of nickle on the copper, hence the name.

Winchester "Silver-tip"
nickel-plated copper jacket bullet

My personal best with a Glock 19 was with 147 grain Silvertip.

5 rounds touching at 10 yds in rapid fire.

That was a GOOD day, and I haven't been able to do it since.

Silvertip doesn't get the press other stuff gets, but its good stuff.

Silvertips are extremely expensive, nearly double the price of LE Ranger SXT.

Why are you so dead-set on them?
