.32 H&R magnum dying out?

I went to several gun shops today looking for a .32 H&R magnum revolver for my wife and no one had any. Worse yet, no one seemed to have any ammo either, told me they had some back ordered. Is this caliber wildly popular or is it dying out?

Might be due to that newer .327 Federal Magnum?

I didn't know it ever got started. I know that some of the gun mags hyped it up a lot as the latest and greatest thing and had a lot of press on it...but that was it.

With all of the students that I have had in CHL classes, I have yet to see one.

To me, its seems like the answer to a question that no body asked.

Ruger still makes the sp101 in 32 hr magnum, probably have to order it. Ammo can be easily found on the web. I bought a single six with a birds head grip in 32mag and love it. Does the job on the odd ground hog that gets close enuff.

The H&R isn't popular. Ammo is hit and miss. It's out there. Most shops probably don't stock it.

I think S&W quit making their J frame chambered for it. A real shame IMHO.....but that could be the death of the round. I hope not.

Good news, the one place I did not check was Cabelas, they had a used S&W 431PD .32 magnum and Federal 85 gr. JHP ammo. I say had because I bought both last night and will try to post pics in another thread soon. Wife is happy!
