Another 'Don't pick up ammo on the ground' story

I was at a tactical match this morning. As I was waiting my turn, I was talking to someone and asked him what he used for the carbine. He said he HAD a Beretta Storm. I asked "what do you mean HAD?" He said that during a match he picked up some 9mm ammo, used it in his brand new Storm and the gun went kaboom. Totally destroyed the frame and gave him a big owie on his hand.

That was a $900 lesson to save 20 cents.

That was one of the first things I was told...never use ammo found on the ground.

Well that's what I was fishing for...

Obviously he picked up ammo he didn't drop. Other than that where did the ammo come from?

I would think that not using "found" ammo would fall under "common sense".

I hate to say it but if somebody wanted to be a jerk they could overload a round of ammo and drop it where somebody would pick it up,it would look brand new so what the heck but get a big surprise when you pull the trigger
