Interesting for sure. The kit costs as much as a new pistol, and I haven't priced 50GI ammo. I think the 22lr conversion kits would be selling more. It would be nice to be unique and say you had a 50GI Glock. Now if I were a gun magazine writer/review expert....I'd be having one sent right over ASAP! If I were in the market for the 50GI, I'd probably rather go with it on the 1911 platform, but that's just me.

If you invest in the .50, also get some Ben-Gay for your shooting hand.

Stay armed...if a .45 does no damage, you're in real trouble...stay safe!

Sounds like just another novelty caliber to me. According to wikipedia (.50 GI - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia), the biggest loading develops 495 ft-lbf at 900ft/sec.

Wikipedia's 45ACP entry (.45 ACP - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) lists 165 gr (10.7 g) Hornady XTP developing 643 ft-lbf at 1,325 ft/s. Their 9mm page (9x19mm Parabellum - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) lists 356 max ft-lbs, though I believe that the super-hot +P+ rounds can get 460-ish ft-lbs.

So I guess I don't see how this new round contributes anything novel.
