Our W-M is out of 357mag (for months) and .45 (off and on) and low on 380. Other than that, all is well

All of the Walmarts around me look like Armageddon has struck, hardly any pistol ammunition and a paltry mix of shotgun shells.

Same thing here, including .38 spl.

Newports News Patrick Henry Mall Airport

Went yesterday and they only had one box 40, a few 357, and no 9mm. Handgun ammo almost all gone.

All I've been able to buy at Walmart was Winchester white box, which is okay for what it is.

Also at our W-M, they say the run on pistol ammo is slowing down and now people are starting a run on hunting caliber rifle ammo. Also starting to stock up on some shotgun stuff as well.

Okay, I am seeing a second wave at the local Walmarts. Yesterday I went by one for non-ammo and walked by the ammo desk where 5 people were waiting on only a handful of boxes of ammo they had left.

I think HR45 and the recent publishing of its potential ramifications has awoken the rest of the firearm community and they are now hitting the stores to stock up.

It was more hectic yesterday than I have seen it in months.

At http://www.opencongress.org/ there are more people viewing HR45 than the stimulus.

Talked to my dad down in south FL today. He said the only thing they have in Wal-Mart down there is bird shot.

I stopped by the one in N. Topeka on my way down hwy 24 today. No handgun ammo at all. 3 40rnd boxes of 7.62x39 WWB, 3 20rnd boxes of 7.62x39 Rem GB, four or five Rem GB 20 rnd boxes of .223. The shelves are pretty bare.

Plenty of hunting rifle ammo though(.308,30-30, 30-06 etc), and plenty of birdshot and quite a bit of 12ga buck and slugs.
