I'd go back and pay for the boxes because if they come up short the folks there will be put under a cloud of suspicion for a "theft" and there may even be polygraphs and things could get ugly. I'd hate to ruin somebody's reputation for a mistake, especially when I can correct it. But maybe that's just me & Thanis.
I used to buy 9MM by the case at Academy in Plano. The clerks would always scan the bar code on the case, and the total came up $4.99. Nobody ever argued when I told 'em to do that 20 times, but they looked puzzled occasionally.

This the "Sleep at Night Test".........

Wish I could get it for $4.99 now, LOL

I was back in the local WalMart yesterday getting a new tire and went to check the ammo.

They had pretty much everything except the hand gun calibers but there was some .357

Everything else was stocked and the girl told me everything other than handgun ammo is slowing down.

I've got a Walmart right around the corner. I plan on slipping in there this weekend and seeing what they have left. I ordered 100 of Hornady TAP JHP from the only site I could find online that had it in stock and now they are out. I was mostly concerned about finding defensive ammo, but now that I have that secured, I'll be looking for target ammo.

Found some ammo today at the Mango, FL store. They had about 50 boxes of BB 9mm and a bunch of WWB and BB .40. I picked up 10 boxes of 9mm and left the rest for the next guy. This was about 10AM. I should be good to go for awhile with what I have already.

My brother in law just called me that the same WM I posted about earlier had 5 boxes of 9mm at lunch time. He told me also that the clerk gave him ip about buying all 5 boxes.

Funny, I know the clerk very well and this is out of the norm for him.

They had no 9mm yesterday and now they are out again. LOL

BTW, Welcome to the forum Torrid.

I noticed that I was getting 1.98 taken off each box of ammo when I got home from Dicks. I think it was from using the score card. They must give a discount for it... that or there is some sale going on that I did not know about.

I was Dicks a few weeks ago in Florence. They had no 9mm ammo. They had a bunch of other stuff and I may have to go back and check the price on .270 as WM just went up $2 on a box of 20.

I gotta go back to Dicks anyway since they have some Turkey season stuff I want that it seems Wally World has stopped stocking.

I hit walmart today. They have more ammo in stock then I have seen in quite a while. They must have had 50 boxes of 40 S&W blazer brass, 20 boxes of WWB 100 Ct 40 S&W, 15 boxes of 44 Mag, 15 or 20 boxes of 9mm WWB ,10 boxes of 38 special WWB and 8 boxes of .357 Winchester
They were low on .22 ammo just a couple of boxes

The regular ammo/sporting goods clerk stated that they are starting to get more ammo in

I also would go back and pay for the ammo, Take the receipt, explain what happen. Mistakes happen. It never hurts to do the right thing

Now that is a deal. Too bad there aren't any like that around today. Federal doesn't seem to be as "proud" of their ammo as everyone else for some reason. Winchester and Remington runs around $16 a box for 30-30 here. Also Fed 30-06 is like $12.97 whereas the Rem and Win stuff is around $18-$20 per box.

BTW - I took my $10 gift coupon to Dick's today and bought a box of .40 cal. They only had 5 boxes, all Rem.UMC 180gr. I think they had 4 boxes of the same in .45. All other handgun ammo was gone.

They usually have a lot in stock and don't sell out becuase their prices are high, but they are pretty much sold out now.
